StART (Fine Arts)

The school-wide theme this year at ATMSA is Saddle up for Success It is my goal to access this theme, in Visual Arts, through topics surrounding the idea of interconnectivity, as art is everywhere.

The K-2^nd  grade students will be focusing on a variety of interconnected topics through the exploration of various art mediums throughout the school year. Students will be working both individually as well as in groups to establish connections with art by exploring their sense of self, sense of place and sense of community.

3^rd – 5^th grade FOCUS groups I accomplish this goal similarly through the inclusion of other disciplines such as history and science, as well as the use of mixed media and other forms of artistic expression. With an emphasis on creative exploration and research, students will be able to discover information that is new to them and imbed it within their art.
