School Advisory Council (SAC)
School Advisory Council (SAC)
Apalachee SAC serves a vital role in our school by performing duties outlined by Leon County School Policy and state statute (1001.452).
In Florida, each school must have a School Advisory Council (SAC), comprising parents, community stakeholders, faculty, and staff. The Apalachee SAC is tasked with strategizing, evaluating, and fostering ongoing school improvement. It plays a pivotal role in the school improvement process by monitoring the comprehensive needs assessment, school improvement budget, and the formulation, development, and evaluation of the School Improvement Plan (SIP), along with its annual reporting. SAC convenes monthly.
If you are interested in serving, please contact our proud principal Dr. Hightower.
The SAC serves an advisory role and plays a crucial part in the decision-making process by outlining objectives for school improvement, evaluating educational requirements, setting priorities, designing programs, and analyzing budgets. These tasks are all part of the school improvement planning cycle.
SAC meetings are open to the public.
The participation of both SAC members and visitors is highly encouraged.
SAC Meetings are held in the ATMSA Media Center.
Members of the public or guests who wish to attend virtually via MS Teams should contact Mrs. Brandy Tyler-McIntosh for a Teams link.
